Read the decision and receive your residence permit card

Your application is processed in two stages:

  1. First, the TE Office establishes whether it is possible to find labour force in Finland or within the EU/EEA for the work in question. The TE Office checks that the employment relationship complies with Finnish labour legislation and that the employer can fulfil their obligations as employer.
In addition, the TE Office assesses whether your income is sufficient and that you are suitable for the job, if the job requires a specific competence or health status.
  2. After the TE Office has issued a partial decision, the Finnish Immigration Service decides your residence permit application.

You will be notified in Enter Finland when the TE Office has issued a partial decision and your application moves to the Finnish Immigration Service for processing.

Wait for the decision of the Finnish Immigration Service:

    1. When the Finnish Immigration Service has issued a decision on your application, you will get a notification by email or text message. Read the decision in Enter Finland.
    2. If the decision is positive, your residence permit card will be sent to the mission you visited.
    3. The mission will notify you when the card has arrived and is ready to be collected.
    4. When you collect the card, bring with you a valid passport.
